Our Story I’ve always had a heart for people and a passion for creating spaces that feel warm, welcoming, and lived in. Before stepping into entrepreneurship, I spent eight years working in EMS, where I learned the importance of connection, trust, and showing up for people when it matters most. Those experiences shaped my work ethic and my approach to caring for others, and they continue to influence everything I do today. Real estate became the next chapter. What began as a career shift quickly grew into something I truly loved—helping clients find the right home, guiding them through big decisions, and discovering how much joy can come from transforming a space. As I spent more time in beautiful homes, my appreciation for design and furnishings naturally grew. I found myself drawn to pieces that were meaningful, timeless, and full of character. That passion ultimately inspired The Tattered Cottage. What started as a small idea evolved into a full home décor and furniture destination built on curated style, comfort, and community. The Cottage became a place where people could find pieces that feel like home—whether it’s a custom console, a handcrafted table, or the perfect finishing touch for a room. As the shop continued to grow, so did the vision. Flowers felt like a natural extension of what we already do—helping people create beauty, mark meaningful moments, and bring warmth into their spaces. That vision led to the addition of Cottage Petals, our in-shop floral experience. Cottage Petals was created to offer thoughtfully designed florals that feel personal and intentional, whether for everyday joy, celebrations, or life’s most important moments. Just like our home décor, our flowers are curated with care, creativity, and heart. I pour myself into every part of the business—from sourcing furniture and florals to designing the store layout to building a team that treats every customer like family. The Tattered Cottage and Cottage Petals are more than a shop; they are a reflection of the belief that home—and the moments within it—should feel comforting, intentional, and uniquely yours. Today, between real estate and running The Tattered Cottage with the addition of Cottage Petals, I’m grateful to be building something meaningful here in coastal North Carolina—rooted in service, community, and a genuine love for helping people create beautiful homes and moments.
